Resumen
La enorme recepción del posestructuralismo a finales del siglo XX en el ámbito intelectual implantó un acuciante temor hacia el esencialismo y ofreció la representación, el lenguaje, el discurso, la hermenéutica, el sentido y la significación como vías para combatirlo. El siglo XXI ha sido testigo de un giro especulativo dispuesto a disputar la hegemonía del giro lingüístico. Este trabajo se propone presentar, brevemente, algunas herramientas conceptuales que señalan los límites de la representación ?lo ominoso, lo abyecto, la diferencia positiva, la agencia y la pulsión?. Todas ellas nos reconducen hacia la noción de alteridad radical como un intento de figurar aquella fuerza afectiva que escapa a la posibilidad de ser modelada y domeñada por el lenguaje. Bill Brandt nos aporta el eje vertebral del recorrido propuesto, pues sus fotografías, y las artes visuales en general, resultan privilegiadas a la hora de suscitar afectaciones provenientes del poder de aquello que en su presentación es imposible de ser representado.
