Resumen
Este artículo aborda las mediaciones audiovisuales de la Historia del arte a partir de la serie televisiva y el libro Ways of Seeing (WoS, 1972). Sostenemos que su relevancia no radica tanto en las reflexiones que planteó como en su actitud ante las posibilidades de las escrituras audiovisuales, es decir, en su capacidad artefactual para articular otro tipo de remediaciones de las imágenes y los relatos del arte. Esto lo evidenciamos: 1) situando WoS en la llamada crisis de la Historia del arte; 2) discutiendo aspectos conceptuales y técnicos de la pugna de WoS con el canon de la Historia del arte a partir de su intervención televisiva; 3) argumentando que WoS desautorizó la Historia del arte académica con sus experimentos multimediáticos y colaborativos que propiciaron formas de desapropiación de la alta cultura; y finalmente 4) dilucidando la singularidad y las limitaciones de las remediaciones producidas por WoS.
